AMD FSR Upscaling 4.1 Expands to More Radeon GPUs and Gaming Devices

AMD has announced a broader rollout of FSR Upscaling 4.1, its machine-learning-based image upscaling technology. The expansion is designed to bring the technology to more PC hardware and gaming devices.

According to AMD's Adrenalin Edition 26.10.1 release notes, support includes Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics products, Ryzen AI Max 300 and 400 Series processors, and Ryzen AI 9 300 and 400 Series processors. AMD's announcement also mentions selected Ryzen Z2-series processors and Xbox consoles as part of the wider expansion.

Upscaling reconstructs a higher-resolution image from lower-resolution frames, potentially helping games balance image quality and performance. The real-world benefit depends on the supported game, device and implementation.

Players should check AMD's official release notes and game compatibility details before assuming a particular device or title supports FSR Upscaling 4.1. The PC driver notes confirm the listed PC hardware support; availability and timing can differ by platform.
