Diablo V Officially Revealed — Diablo Has Won and Sanctuary Has Fallen

Blizzard has officially revealed Diablo V, the next mainline entry in the Diablo franchise, during BlizzCon 2026.

The sequel is built around a major reversal of the series' usual premise: Sanctuary has fallen, the heroes have been defeated and Diablo has won. Blizzard says Diablo V will explore what happens after the Lord of Terror conquers Sanctuary.

Blizzard has confirmed a Spring 2029 release window. The development team has also introduced the Heir to Westmarch as the central player character concept, with the player travelling through a Sanctuary actively reshaped by Diablo.

The first detailed reveal also confirmed the Demon Hunter and Monk, alongside the all-new Plague Knight class. Blizzard is also focusing on deeper itemisation, clarity and stronger item identity.

Diablo V is still in development, meaning additional gameplay, systems and platform information will be revealed over time.
