Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Passes 15 Million Sales as Night City’s Comeback Continues

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has now sold more than 15 million copies worldwide. The expansion originally launched in September 2023 and has continued to sell strongly alongside the base game.

The milestone represents substantial growth from May 2025, when CD Projekt Red announced that Phantom Liberty had crossed 10 million copies sold.

Phantom Liberty has added approximately five million sales since CD Projekt Red's previous 10 million milestone. The latest total includes both standalone purchases of the expansion and copies distributed as part of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition.

The continued sales demonstrate the unusually long commercial life Cyberpunk 2077 has developed following its troubled 2020 launch and the major improvements introduced over subsequent years.

CD Projekt Red says strong sales from the Cyberpunk and Witcher universes helped the company generate PLN 435 million in revenue during the first half of 2026, representing a 23% increase compared with the corresponding period a year earlier.

Consolidated net profit reached PLN 249 million, an increase of 37% year over year, while the company reported net profitability of more than 57%.

Cyberpunk 2077's continued commercial performance is particularly important as CD Projekt Red builds the future of the franchise. Development is already underway on the next Cyberpunk game, commonly referred to as Cyberpunk 2.

With Phantom Liberty reaching 15 million sales and the original game continuing to attract players years after release, Cyberpunk has evolved into one of CD Projekt Red's most important long-term franchises.

Cyberpunk 2077 launched in December 2020 amid major technical problems and widespread criticism, particularly surrounding its console versions. Years of patches, updates, the Edgerunners resurgence and the release of Phantom Liberty dramatically changed the game's reputation.

The expansion's 15 million sales milestone provides another measurable sign of that turnaround and shows that players continue to enter Night City long after the game's original release.
